FLORIDA

Wild Iris Medical Education is approved as a provider of continuing education for RNs and LPNs by Florida Board of Nursing, approval number NCE3403–31/Oct/08. We offer the following courses presenting topics mandated by the State of Florida:

  • Florida Domestic Violence
    Meets the domestic violence continuing education requirement for healthcare providers in the state of Florida; also available in Spanish. Nurses in Florida are required to take 2 contact hours on domestic violence every 3rd license renewal.
  • Florida HIV / AIDS (1, 2, 3, 4 units)
    Fulfills the HIV/AIDS continuing education requirement for healthcare workers in Florida. Nurses in Florida are required to complete 1 contact hour on HIV/AIDS prior to the first license renewal.
  • Florida: Reducing Medical Errors, Reporting and Prevention
    Meets the Florida requirement for prevention of medical errors, both for initial licensure and biennial renewal. Nurses in Florida are required to take 2 contact hours of continuing education on the prevention of medical errors.
  • Florida OT: Reducing Medical Errors is approved by the Florida Board of Occupational Therapy Practice, accreditation # 50–2174–3. It meets the requirement for prevention of medical errors for OTs and COTAs in Florida for initial licensure and biennial renewal.
  • Florida Physical Therapy: Reducing Medical Errors is approved by the Florida Physical Therapy Association, course number ME80111831. It meets the Florida requirement for prevention of medical errors for physical therapists (Florida Statute Rule No. 64B17–9), for initial licensure and biennial renewal. Accreditation of this course does not necessarily imply the FPTA supports the views of the presenter or the sponsors.

GEORGIA

Georgia: Ethics and Jurisprudence: Physical Therapists and Physical Therapy Assistants is approved by the Physical Therapy Association of Georgia.

KENTUCKY

Kentucky: Domestic Violence meets the domestic violence continuing education requirement for healthcare providers in the state of Kentucky.

MICHIGAN

Michigan: Pain and Symptom Management meets the continuing education requirement for coursework in pain and symptom management.

NEVADA

Nevada: Terrorism for Healthcare Professionals meets the requirement of Assembly Bill 250, which requires that several types of healthcare professionals, including nurses, take four hours of continuing education "relating to the medical consequences of an act of terrorism that involves the use of a weapon of mass destruction."

NEW YORK

Wild Iris Medical Education is an approved provider by the New York State Department of Education, Professional Education Program. Results are automatically reported to the NY State Department of Education.

  • New York Child Abuse and Neglect: Identifying and Reporting is approved by the New York State Education Department (provider ID #80607). This course meets the requirement for identification and reporting of child abuse and maltreatment.
  • New York Infection Control Guidelines is approved by the New York State Department of Health and State Education Departments (provider ID #IC138). This course meets the requirement for infection control and barrier precautions.

OHIO

Ohio: Standards of Safe Nursing Practice meets the requirement of the Ohio Board of Nursing for a one-hour course on the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.

OREGON

The following courses meet the requirements set forth by the State of Oregon's Senate Bill 885.

  • Oregon: Pain and Pain Management (6 units)

PUERTO RICO

Puerto Rico: Infection Control Guidelines meets the infection control requirement for healthcare professionals in Puerto Rico.

TEXAS

  • Texas: Ethics and Professional Responsibility: PTs and PTAs meets the two-hour ethics and professional responsibility continuing education requirement for license renewal purposes for Texas PTs and PTAs. This course has been approved by the Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners, course approval number 42857A.

WASHINGTON STATE

Washington State HIV / AIDS Prevention, Education and Training (7, 4, 2 units). These courses meet the requirements set forth by the Washington State Department of Health HIV Prevention and Education Services. Wild Iris Medical Education (PA-#5/Feb/08) is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Washington State Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.

WEST VIRGINIA

West Virginia End-of-Life Care Including Pain Management. The West Virginia state legislature passed H.B. 2815 in March 2001, which requires continuing education in end-of-life care and pain management issues for all nurses holding licenses in West Virginia. This course encompasses the basic principles of end of life care (also called palliative care), including pain management for the client and the family, and offers examples of professional practice.
